Hated when I'm drunk?

My Mother and I were talking tonight after I had had a few drinks - suddenly she got really mad at me and yelled "shut up you're always like this when you are drinking that stuff" after I responded she just yelled more "yes okay shut up stop it" - I wouldn't mind this all happened about 15 minutes ago and it was only over the fact that I was expressing my sorrow (over a family situation that had taken place in the week). I'm 29 and yes I do drink a little bit more than is good for me but never in public and never in front of the rest of my family. I guess my question really is , is my Mother just doing her typical worrying thing or is she right to yell at a 29 year old woman?
