How do you make those 2 big braids ..like pigtails, that a lot of rappers have ?

I see this style in a lot of rap videos ...Snoop Dogg wore them...i see a lot of gangsters wear this..black and mexican alike. I want to know how do you make them...it looks simple but it is not cuz i tried to make em. I'm a boy with long hair ..like chest length...3 years of growth now. Its pretty long.
